the school of music

On 4 December 2004 the spectacular new addition to the School of Music was opened by Sir Roger Norrington, the celebrated conductor of the London Classical Players.

The new addition has provided much needed space for pupils and teaching staff alike.  The building is bright and attractive and the sounds of music-making attest to its importance within College life.

The School of Music offers pupils eight practice rooms on the ground floor with an additional six instrumental teaching rooms on the first floor, which can also be used for individual practice sessions.  There are two main classrooms, one of which can double as a large rehearsal room.  There is also a computer room, recording studio, listening library, drum room and a locker room for pupils to store their instruments.  The Concert Hall remains as it was before the addition to the building and provides both a large rehearsal space and an ideal venue for recitals.
