community projects
Bradfield College has a long tradition of “service” to the wider community. The College has provided not just facilities and fundraising opportunities on behalf of worthwhile community projects, but also in providing volunteer “pupil power “ to a variety of charitable enterprises.
Each year there are a number of volunteering projects that a pupil can get involved with if they so wish. Our pupils regularly provide support to local pre-school / primary schools, they also assist local Senior Citizens at the College’s Piano Club. Local community organisations are also welcome to attend a variety of pupil lead musical events, held at the College. Our pupils also work on community projects which have both the fundraising opportunities as well as pupil involvement opportunities, for example, the College is currently working with a local charity which provides tactile book s for the blind /partially sighted. Last year pupils provided a great deal of hands on support to a local special school, based in Wokingham ; over the next year, the College will be providing “pupil power“ to a local drop in centre.
Our aim is to ensure every pupil has the opportunity to involve themselves in a volunteer project at some stage during their career at the College. We would like to think our pupils, when they leave the College, will take with them the ethos of helping others , not just by giving monetarily , but by the giving of their time, as well.
