> Saturday and Sunday 3 and 4 March 2012 in Chapel:

 

Community Scratch Choir. Singing pieces from Great British Choral Works

Why not join in and be part of the Community Scratch Choir? No experience is necessary! It is an opportunity to spend some time with a group of like-minded people learning the songs. Music is provided and there are no auditions. Only £20 per person (£15 if a Senior Citizen).

 

This event raised £700 and all profits went to the friends of The Charles Clore Day Therapy Unit, based in Thatcham.

An Afternoon of Festive Music


All were welcomed to the College's Music School for an afternoon of festive music and choral singing.

 > Tuesday 6 December 2011:

Mike McLean hosted an evening of Science and discussion in the Blackburn Science Centre

The evening centered around the topic "Nuclear Power Post Fukushima" and looked at the widespread coverage the disaster received despite there being zero fatalities as a result.

 


> Thursday 17 March 2011:

Dr Jack Cohen presented a lecture:  "What Can We Know About Alien Life?"

Dr Cohen lead the evening with a short presentation on 'What Can We Know About Alien Life?' followed by a discussion and debate around this topic.

Primary Schools Cross Country Competition

Over 200 children from 11 schools took part in this years Primary Schools Cross Country Competition.

Lenten Lunch and 'Send a Cow'

We now have the details of the money raised by so many people prepared to give up their lunch on Ash Wednesday.

The £460 that was raised equates to 3 cows, a goat and a lamb which the College was able to contribute.  This was achieved by staff and pupils giving up their usual lunch on Ash Wednesday and instead having simple soup and bread.

This years Charity Football event took place over Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 February in Bradfield's Sports Hall. With the aim of rasing money for two charities; 'The Grail Trust'  (http://www.grailtrust.org.uk)  which is a small organisation whose main aim is to ensure that aid really reaches its target and champions the idea of "Uplifting through education" in India, and 'Alive and Kicking' (http://www.aliveandkicking.org.uk) an African charity working in Kenya and Zambia. It concentrates on the manufacturing of sports balls to provide balls for children, creating jobs for adults and promoting health education through sport.
