BCPA Clay Pigeon Shoot 2011
This year's BCPA Clay Pigeon shoot was held on Sunday 6 March, a glorious spring day. Below, parent Catherine Hartz gives an account of the day's events.
"The aim of the day was to have a relaxed shoot with the opportunity for some practice and tuition as well as a competition for both individuals and pairs. The day attracted parents, pupils and past pupils and saw some great shooting.
The Individual Experienced competition was won by Jeffrey Carey, (father of Lucien CL) with runner up James Caney. Meanwhile, the Individual Novice competition was won by Piers Darby (C) with joint runners up Will Davis Coleman (E) and James Cierach. The main team competition was won by Kim Campion and Alistair Crane with runners up Tom Williams (A) and his father, Hamish. The mixed ability team competition was won by Jeffrey and Lucien Carey (CL) with runners up Russell England and Will Davis Coleman (A).
Our thanks go to Paul Oldring and Sarah Daly who currently coach the Bradfield College pupils, James Harding (SCR), his team of scorers, the school caterers for a delicious tea and The Boot and The Pot Kiln who both supplied a prize. The setting of the College Shooting Ground provided an ideal location for this relaxed and friendly event."
